For over 35 years, LJ Plastics has been manufacturing plastic injection moulded components for businesses across Australia. We’re a family owned and operated business based in Dandenong South, Melbourne — and in that time we’ve built our reputation the old-fashioned way: by doing what we say we’ll do, on time, at a fair price.
We’re not the biggest moulding shop in Melbourne, and we don’t try to be. What we offer instead is the kind of hands-on attention a larger, more impersonal operation can’t — every client works directly with the people running the floor, not a call centre or an account manager three layers removed from production.
Our Facility
LJ Plastics operates from a well-equipped 10,000 square foot moulding shop in Dandenong South, in Melbourne’s south-east. Our machinery ranges from 90 to 850 tonne clamping capacity, which means we can mould components weighing anywhere from 1 gram up to 4.5 kilograms — covering everything from small precision parts to larger industrial components, under one roof.
That range matters in practice: it means a client doesn’t need to be shopped around between specialist shops for different parts of a project. Whether you need a short prototype run or an ongoing high-volume contract, the same facility and the same team can usually handle it.

What We Actually Do
Plastic injection moulding is the core of the business, but it’s not the whole of it. Most of our clients come to us at different points in a product’s life — from an early sketch through to ongoing production — so we’ve built the business around the stages that surround the moulding itself, including:

Our Process, Briefly
- Talk it through. We start with your requirements, drawings, or existing samples — and tell you honestly whether it’s a good fit for our equipment and experience.
- Tooling and material advice. Before committing to a mould, we work through material choice, design feasibility, and tooling recommendations.
- Trial and approval. Tooling trials produce sample parts so you can check fit, finish, and compliance before full production starts.
- Production. Custom or contract runs, scaled to what your business actually needs — not a one-size-fits-all minimum order.
- Assembly, packaging, and delivery. Parts leave ready for their next step, delivered on the timeline we agreed to.
